Product Details:

A packet of katsuo (pretty) flavored soup broth (dashi). 8g dashi can be stored in the cupboard and used in soup bases for noodle dishes. Use it with miso paste to make miso soup, or with soy sauce and red pepper to make Chige. Very versatile and important in Japanese cuisine.

What is dashi?

Dashi is the cornerstone of some of the most delicious food. The deep-flavored broth is made by soaking kombu, a type of dried seaweed, and katsuobushi, a dried, aged tuna. When combined in water, the two transform into a flavorful and delicious base for anything from miso soup to barely curdled steamed custard.
